Purchase Raising Dough book
There are several ways to order copies of Raising Dough: the Complete Guide to Financing a Socially Responsible Food Business.
All royalties generated from book sales go back to Finance for Food (a project of the Trust for Conservation Innovation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization) to further support financing education projects that help sustainable food entrepreneurs access mission-aligned capital.
1. Order from your local, independent bookseller
Purchasing any book from local, independent bookstores benefits your local community and economy in a number of ways. Ordering Raising Dough in person, by phone, or through IndieBound (a project of the independent bookseller members of the American Booksellers Association) also encourages more indie bookstores to order and stock the book on their shelves. If you buy anything at all through IndieBound after clicking here or on the image above, Finance for Food will receive a small percent of your total payment. Thank you for choosing this option!
2. Order from Chelsea Green Publishing
Ordering this way directly supports the employee-owned company that is publishing Raising Dough. Sign up for the Chelsea Green e-newsletter to learn about sales and discounts. When you sign up for the first time you will receive a 25% discount on your next order.
3. Order from Amazon or Barnes & Noble
While these retailers may not offer the same social benefits as those listed above, they often offer books at a steep discount… though we are still concerned about the long-term costs of mega-retailers and consolidation on on not only the community of independent booksellers, but on the entire publishing industry.
That said, we understand that many of you are watching your budgets very closely, and these are usually the least expensive options… even if the longer-term costs to your community’s wellbeing might be higher. If you buy anything at all through Amazon after clicking here or on their logo below, Finance for Food will receive a small percent of your total payment.
4. Order the eBook
eBooks are available now in a variety of formats, including:
- Kobo (Kobo purchases can support your local, independent bookstore; learn how here),
- Kindle (Finance for Food receives a portion of your Amazon purchases if you use this link),
- Nook, and
- Google Play.
5. Order in bulk
Orders of 20 or more books qualify for discounts of up to 40% off the retail price. If you are a member of an organization or educational institution that works with socially responsible entrepreneurs, food entrepreneurs, business students, or other relevant audience, or if you represent such an organization, please contact Elizabeth for more information about ordering in bulk. Additional opportunities may be available to organizations serving communities that have not traditionally had access to entrepreneurial finance resources, so please describe your unique situation in your request.
6. Request an examination copy for educational use
Professors and other qualified instructors interested in reviewing Raising Dough for educational use (ie, if you would like to it as a text for a course) can request an examination copy directly from Chelsea Green. For instance, Presidio Graduate School uses Raising Dough as a required reading in their Capital Markets class, a required course for students in the MBA in sustainable management program.
